Acting Training for the Screen
Acting and Cold Brews offers ongoing acting training for the screen, designed for adults and teens 16+ seeking a grounded, repeatable approach to on-camera work. Training is available both in person at the Leighton Atelier Scottsdale Clubhouse and through our online membership, allowing actors to engage with the work regardless of location.
Our classes prioritize process over performance and development over shortcuts. The goal is not to manufacture results, but to build durable craft that supports sustained creative growth.
Our TRAINING APPROACH
IMPROVISATION AS PROCESS
Improvisation is integrated into class as a tool for flexibility, presence, and responsiveness. Rather than performance-driven games, improvisation is used to support scene work, audition readiness, and adaptability in front of the camera.
SCENE STUDY & ON-CAMERA WORK
Students work on scenes over multiple weeks, allowing time to explore text, behavior, and truthful performance on camera. This extended approach encourages depth rather than immediacy and mirrors the demands of professional film and television work.
AUDITION TECHNIQUE AND SELF TAPE REVIEW
Audition material and self-tapes may be brought into class for structured feedback. This work emphasizes clarity, framing, and behavioral choices, helping actors better understand how their work translates on screen.
